Commissioned by the Paul Dresher Ensemble Premiere: Duration - 12' Program Note: Like a set of pigments that yield an infinite spectrum of color, the material in Threads was chosen for its potential to yield a subtly variegated whole. The timbral palette of the piece is derived from residual noises of the violin, bass clarinet, electric guitar and vibraphone. Through a careful interweaving of its sonic strands, Threads immerses the listener in an emerging spectrum of electronically fused sound. |
